Ffynnon Gath will be holding its annual event on September 12th-14th and we would love to see all of our friends come out and have a great time! This is a new site, a fantastic site with showers, some areas for trailers (let me know ahead of time what size your trailer is so we can make sure we have set aside room for you - electric only though), and some good shaded camping areas.
There are lots of things going on for everyone to enjoy. We have Sir Kenneth teaching a class on combat archery. This is primarily designed for folks who have been interested in becoming involved in C.A. but didn't know where to start. He'll cover things like arrow construction (important since there have been some recent changes), armor standards and basically what it's like to be out on the field shooting at people :)
We will also be holding our very first archery competition! Plus of course, let us not forget one of the best parts - the brewing competition. So Miles, I expect to see you enter some of your stuff this year!!!
While we will not have a feast the Saracen Blade tavern will be there to offer both lunch and dinner choices, plus a selection of libations!
Our King and Queen will attend our event and we are very excited about that as well.
The schedule has been designed so that everyone will have a chance to participate in as many things as they wish.
There is also the possibility that we may be offering new comers to the SCA half off of gate fees and SCA 101 classes. So this event will be a great event to bring new comers!!! More on this to come as details are finalized.
We would love to have more merchants!
We could always use some help as well! We have a few gate shifts that need to be covered and the Saracen Blade may need some help. Contact Lady Aleksandra for gate and Lady Ciara for tavern. Or if you just want to help in some other way please contact me.
For more details please visit our website;

See you there!!!

Re: You're Invited to Jagermeister!
Wed, September 3, 2008 - 2:57 PMHoly Cow, Batman! Ffynnon Gath is already one of the southernmost groups in the Kingdom, and you pick an event site that's 20 miles (or more) SOUTH of San Marcos? Is it that you want to discourage us northern riff-raff from spoiling your event by showing up? Google Maps tells me it will take over SEVEN HOURS for me to reach the site. You're killing me here! I've had Jagermeister on my list of events to attend for a while now, and some friends have asked if they might be able to ride along, so I guess I'll just have to man up and deal with it. (Translation: Quit your bitching, Miles, it's a fun event!) If the passenger list stays at two people, at least I'll be able to drive my Jetta (40 mpg) instead of my full-sized van (15 mpg).
Should I bring a keg of beer or perhaps hard cider? Can a full keg be transported laying on its side? Since I don't have a jockey box yet, does anyone have some sort of tub, trash can, or other container I could use to ice down the keg?
A question on the tourney - "single sword" means no shield, right? At least "double elimination" means at least two bouts. XD -

Re: You're Invited to Jagermeister!
Wed, September 3, 2008 - 7:11 PMMiles,
The Saracen Blade Tavern will be having its grand re-opening at Jagermeister.
Murdoch and I have a few kegs (& bottles) for the populace to sample. Of course the jocky-box will be there, so feel free to bring a keg (or anything else you'd like to share). Donations, monitary or otherwise, are not only accepted, they're encouraged. ;-)

Re: You're Invited to Jagermeister!
Wed, September 3, 2008 - 4:05 PMWish I could make it, cause I do loves me some single sword. Single sword is the second most fun thing to fight, glaive being the first.
